till, before, until
这三个词都可表示“在…之前”“直到”。
1.在否定句中, before和till或until可以互换,但前者强调句中动作在其宾语所指时间之前的进展情况,而后者则强调句中动作在其宾语所指时间之后的转变情况。
2.在肯定句中, before强调句中动作在其宾语所指时间之前已经完成或强调句中状态在其宾语所指时间之前持续的情况,因而句中可以用持续性动词或瞬间动词; till和until则强调句中动词所表示状态在其宾语所指时间之后的结束或转变情况。
till, by
这两者都可与表示时间的词连用。by指动作在宾语所指的时间前发生,与非持续性动词连用; 而till则指动作或状态持续到宾语所指的时间为止,常与非持续性动词的否定形式或持续性动词连用。

单词用法
till用作连词用于肯定句时表示“直到…为止”，指某一动作或状态一直持续到till后面的句子所表示的时间为止，这时主句的谓语动词是延续性动词。
till用于否定句时表示“在…以前，直到…才”，这时主句表示的是一种持续的否定状态，否定状态一结束，肯定动作或状态就开始。
