tend to, mind

两者共同的意思是“注意”“留心”。它们之间的区别在于：
1.mind多指有可能会发生意外的事,警告某人要小心。
2.tend to虽有“留心”的意思,但它含有“服侍”的意味。 例如:
She tended to her affairs carefully.她细心照料她的事务。
She has many maids tending to her.她有这么多的侍女伺候着她。
We employed a girl to tend to the children for a few hours each day.我们雇了一个女孩,每天照料孩子们几个小时。

tend, attend, mind, watch

这组词都有“照料(某人或某物)”的意思,在含义上略有不同：attend侧重“服侍使其更舒服”; mind侧重“保护其不出意外,不受损害”; tend侧重“注意某事使其正常运转”; watch侧重“预先做好防止发生危险的准备”,有连续性或专职性。例如:

nurse，tend，foster，cultivate，cherish

这些动词都含“照料、培育”之意。
nurse通常指对无力自顾的婴儿、病人等进行照料或护理。
tend指出于责任心、博爱心而不是私人感情去对人或物进行照顾。
foster指对孩子的关心、鼓励、供养及抚养其成长；也指鼓励、促进事物的增长与发展。
cultivate具体意义指耕耘、培育植物；抽象意义指培养兴趣或向往的理想事物。
cherish强调抚育或爱抚。
